Wonderful day

Well I don't often post on here, but today has been such a nice day, I thought I really aught to.

It started off in the morning with a nice hack round the woods on Monty. Very nice in the sunshine. Floof walked round with me, taking short cuts. When we got back to the yard, Floof decided to ride Monty bareback in the outdoor school. I was very impressed when he cantered him. www.flickr.com/photos/focal-length/4019411573/in/set-72157603393004524/

Then, as happens a few times a year, there was a steam rally with classic cars etc at the bonded warehouse in Stourbridge. Large numbers of narrow boats in attendance. I was taking photographs of a HUGE steam crane when the owner walked up to me and said I could climb up. And it was a bit of a climb too. Big grin on my face. www.flickr.com/photos/focal-length/4020227060/in/set-72157622480947955/

Next, I had to drop off one of Monty's rugs fopr cleaning and weatherproofing at a tack shop on the top of the Clent Hills. Afterwards Floof and I went for a walk over the top of Clent. On the way back, on the spur of the moment we called in at The Fountain. This is more of a reastaurant than a pub. On Friday Floof had been looking everywhere for Yarg cheese. I had told him about it, it is made in Cornwall, they put stinging nettle leaves on it, which grow an edible white mould. Floof had not been able to find it, but they had it in the Fountain. So we ordered Chees and Bickers, and had a nice little snack.

Trilobites and Horses

Last weekend saw Floof, Black Wolf and me take a trip to the Bi Anual Dudley Rock & Fossil Festival.

Was some awsome stuf there. Now if I had a spare £300 there was a fossil there I loved. After we went round to the Wren's Nest, internationally renound for it's fossils. We collected quite a few. I was very pleased when I found a small fossil of "The Dudley Bug" otherwise known as a Trilobite.

Out for a curry in the evening, and somehow we ended up walking to The Waterfront, where a number of Jagerbombs were consumed.

Sunday was a lazy day. We took Black Wolf to the stables and let him ride Monty. For someone who had not ridden before, he did really well.

Monty started off well tonight, but then it all went to pot.

Never mind, it's not dressage next week, it's show jumping Yayhay :)

Fox

The window in my living room goes right down to the floor. There is a path right outside the window. Every now and again, one of the foxes walks along it. It's so nice to see them so close.

One of these days I'm going to manage to get a photo of the juveniles play boxing. Or a five fox glomp. I loved the other night sitting out in the back garden watching a young fox wander round the garden, sniffing at the compost heap. If only I had my mobile with me then to take some video.

Last year, the place I normally pick my sloes from (on a bridle path) had the trees cut back so I tried making damson rum instead of sloe gin, It was wonderful.

So at the weekend, a walk to where I know there are trees with tonnes of damsons on them was called for. It's out in the country side, about five miles from my house. They were not ripe. So we went for a walk along bridle paths and footpaths. Walking through a small village, Floof saw a damson tree by the side of the road. We went to check and they were ripe. Out came the bags.

So this evening we have used 1.25 litre of white rum with the damsons. All we have to do now is wait.

Later in the year (after the first frost) I might pick some rose hips, and see if I can invent a recipe for Rose Hip Rum.

Divitus visit
Wolf fursuit
[info]truewolffur

We have had Divitus staying with us for a few days, before he goes back to USA for good.

Friday we went to The Black Country Museum, and Divitus had a great time looking at how things used to be. Though a wench did want to cut Floof's hair and check it for nits.

Saturday we went to Arley, we popped into The Harbour in suits, and the landlord shouted out "Hey Wolfie" as soon as I walked in. He sent me down a passageway into the kitchens to see his wife. A waitress walked in, just as soon as had got there, and she screamed. The photos are here www.flickr.com/photos/mr-wolf/sets/72157621863432557/. Then we walked up to look at the steam trains, followed by a walk along the river. When we got home we suited into a local pub. That night we walked down to The Waterfront for some serious clubbing,

Sunday, I was wrecked, so Floof went with Divitus for a day at Bridgenorth. It sounded like they had a great day. The river was really low so they went down onto the beach and found things that were 100s of years old. Divitus bought some stuff from the shop at the Severn Valley Railway.

Monday, we went to the stables. Divitus had a little ride on Monty, before I schooled him. That evening we had a few Cosmo's and staid up talking until 2am.

Today we went to Bewdley, a nice walk round the town and through some woods. Then through the town gardens to the museum, which was facinating,

Back to work tomorrow.

Well a week ago it was still very sunny. But there had been far too many BBQs of late, so instead a trip to Stratford on Avon to visit the Butterfly centre was the order of the day. Afterwards, a row up the river. Mr Wolf is very good at rowing so the other rowing boats were quickly left far behind. They also have large rowing boats there, where up to four can row and there is room for pleanty of passengers. Perhaps when it is sunny, we should organise a row up the river for a bunch of furs, we could pull into the bank somewhere and have a glass of cold wine.

Since there isa row of clubs and bars within walking distance of the Wolf lair, there has been the odd moment of merryment. For example:

A new discovery has been a pub that has been refubished with new owners just a few minutes walk away from my house. It's really nice. They did not have Jäger so we had a word with the landlord, and now they do. YAY.

Today is going to be dim sum lunch and then a visit to the Think Tank at Millenium Point.

Saturday's BBQ
Wolf fursuit

On Saturday, Floof and I had some furs round for a BBQ.

Unfortunately Blueberry, Sedric, Lost, and Kanibal had to drop out.

But Baekho, Black Wolf, and Drayygon made it.

The weather was a bit off and on, but we managed some good sun, and dashed inside or under the parasol when the heavens opened. The lid on the BBQ was dropped down and we watched the rain sizzle off the top of it.

Everyone was impressed with my awsome BBQ lighter, which is a section of air conditioning conduit, with holes drilled in the bottom...

conduitconduitchimney The food of course included my lamb steaks in my own recipe sauce. But we also cooked king prawns on skewers, venison sausages, and pork herb and lemon rind sausages. Bacon with pickled green peppercorns in tortilla wraps was of course on the menu too. There was some salad to keep things healthy too.
Food

Then I started making cocktails which may have been a bad move. We all went down to The Waterfront, and did a 10 shot Jager train. Then, we aquiried another fur, Glen-Ichi an ran an 11 shot Jager Train. Dink Dink Dink...

We walked back from The Waterfront, and when we got home Baekho and Black Wolf decided to roll down my front lawn. It looked very good with the glow sticks wirring in the night.

More cocktails, Glen-Ichi had to go home. Drayygon crashed out at about 2:30 and I went to bed soon after, but the others were up until about 5am.

I wonder if it is the smoke from BBQs that always makes me feel rough the next day.

In the middle of last year, I was visiting new places almost every weekend (mostly in Lancashire and Yorkshire) it was really nice. But from about August I never visited anywhere new. Eight days ago I visited Canterbury and realised how much I missed being taken somewhere I had not been before. So this weekend on Saturday I went round Rye. Awww what a beautiful place. I also fursuited in the dunes at Camber, and took some awesome photos of derelict boats at Dungeness. Evening was a couple of jagerbombs, a couple of Coronas, before we hit the Mojitos. I had six!

Sunday saw fish and chips from the pier for lunch before walking across the top of Beachy Head. Walking across the car park of “The Beach Head” (the rebuilt one, the first one fell into the sea) I met a Polish biker. His bike had the most awesome wolf paint job on it.

On the way back, I drove past the lighthouse that had been moved back away from the cliff edge and the village where only the end house of a terrace remained.

The furry pics are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mr-wolf/sets/72157611026307256/ The none furry pics are really good.:

I hate those auto emails from support desks that ask all the questions that you answered in your original submission. The latest email I had was a classic though. It had the line "what is your email address?" Hmmmm, let me see, perhaps it might just be the one you just used guys.

I took photos.

Ok, I gave up and took photos of the handwriting calculator. I really need a screen shot app. As you write, it draws what it thinks you mean underneaith. This looks a bit odd in the picture after all has been written, but it works well as you go along.

Press (or write) = and you get:

You can scroll left and right so your calculation can be as long as you want. But you can't scroll down, so you are limited to the depth of the screen.

gypsii is a free app for smart phones. It works with GPS and does many things. One thing it does is show where your friends are on a map.

I think it would be really nice for furs traveling to meets and cons to turn their visibility on and watch the furs converge on the meet.

You have control over who can see where you are, and if your location is visible.

If anyone who knows me has gypsii, please add me.using the btopenworld truewolf email address.

I now have a touch phone. I've downloaded some cool apps to it. I love the handwriting calculator. Unfortunately I can't find a screen shot application for Symbian 60 5.2, so I can't show you how good it is. qik is another good free app for smart phones, it streams live video from your phones camera. Obviously best where there is wifi, but if you have uncharged internet access on your contract, you could be streaming a furwalk in real time.

Bury St Edmunds meet.
Wolf fursuit
[info]truewolffur

31st of Jan. The day started of nicely, because as I was driving along a dual carrage way, a fox tried to cross, then changed her mind and went and sat at the side of the road. As I went past I had a perfect view of her sitting up, beautiful wihite bib and tail tip.

Anyway. The BSE meet was awsome. The bar was fantastic. We had it to ourselves from midday until 5. The place in cellars was awsome and the staff were so friendly and helpfull nothing was too much trouble. I did not have to pay for the pint I pulled for the bar wolf pics.

BSE was lovely to walk around in, we went round the Abbey Gardens and Lost and me crashed a wedding photo shoot. Me next to the bride and Lost next to the groom, I bet that is one photo they choose to keep. We also went round the market.

Back to the bar. There is an upper room which we can hire in an evening, and if Zammy is allowed to stay in the UK after April he is going to organise a rave for about 30 - 50 furs. They also have a warehouse out the back for bigger gigs that holds 350. As I said, the staff we so helpful, they said if we wanted to stay when the public came in, we could put our bags in the top room and they would chain it off, or they would keep them in the office. Caroline the boss and Hugo the manager made us so welcome. Hugo also let us use Mountain Dew and Volt that had come from the airbase as mixers.

Awsome day, one of the best meets I have ever been to. Oh, I organised it, but I think it was pure luck it worked out so well, since I live about three hours drive from the place.

The icing on the cake? Kanibal is going to fix up for Mr Wolf (suited) to drive a Steam Train.

Oh yes, the pictures. Find them here: http://flickr.com/photos/mr-wolf/sets/72157613184446415/

Last Weekend
Wolf fursuit
[info]truewolffur

After having something pretty awful go wrong with my life last week, I was hoping that some time in London and Canterbury (filming more scenes for my latest video) would be therapeutic.

Oh dear.

I got to London and collected Smirnoff as planned. No problems so far. We gave up trying to get to the car park I had intended to use. There was a demo against the war in Gaza starting off from Hyde Park, which the hotel overlooked. The police had closed all the roads. Eventually I found a car park; having followed two other cars the wrong way down a one way street to get out from where we were locked in. Ouch £18 for 6 hours. A bit of a longer walk than expected, and it was freezing cold.

Got to hotel, all ok. Daktalis called to say he would be late. He had been delayed setting off. Then there were horrendous problems on the tube, eventually he gave up and took a taxi. Of course all the roads to the hotel were closed.

So it was quite dark by the time we started filming in Hyde Park. Funny thing, freezing weather is lovely when you are in a fursuit. On the way, Daktalis offered to carry my laptop (used to time the scenes). He did not see I was carrying the camera too, and took it from me and the camera went flying. The glass cover over the image sensor flew off. It looked like it was only glued on. We pressed it back on and a test showed the camera still worked. Phew. A drop of glue is all I think it really needs.

We filmed in Hyde Park, using the light on the camera. We watched the playback, and realised that Smirnoff needed to act a little differently. We could see exactly what was needed, and a second take should have sorted it. At this point the camera battery gave up. WHY? Yes we had been using the light, but not for long. The camera had been connected to my laptop's USB port for ages.

We walked back the hotel, stuck the camera on my laptop, looked at the footage, and then set off to walk back to the car, and a trip to take Smirnoff home.

An hour later Daktalis and I were back at the hotel. Close by car park and at 80p an hour very reasonable. Suited up, the camera showing just two blue bars on the battery we grab a taxi to Trader Vic's in Mayfair. The taxi driver did ask if I was house trained, he did not want any unwanted gifts.

We get to Trader Vic's and the girl in the foyer went off to get the Maître d'. After a short conversation, he went on to fetch the manager. Such a dapper man in his cream suit and clipped beard. Unfortunately "Heath and Safety" reared its ugly head.

Taxi back. We tried filming the scene in the hotel. It really did not work. And after just a few minutes filming the camera battery packed up.

So to bed, confused, leaving the camera on USBed to my laptop. The next morning, the camera was warm, but no charge. In desperation I thought I would head off to Canterbury with the camera on the USB style charger for my Zen media player.

I checked an hour and a half down the road. No charge. I called Pawsies, and cried off.

So, all the way back from Kent to home. Many hours later, I flop into my house. I thought "I just wonder" -- I put the camera onto the charger that came with it. Oh what a surprise. It charged. Moral RTFM

So 100s of miles in a Landy that is not known for its economy; A hotel bill. Taxi fares; Car park ransom; Other incidental expenses;  Nothing to show for it.

BUT•••

I have had an email from Trader Vic's. They will let me film in the bar, and I can (suited) talk to the manager, which will add some extra panache to my film.

So all to do over again. Very muddled about my life though.
